SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The Pay it Forward Project is offering to match the next 125 turkeys sponsored by community members to help feed families in need during the holidays in the Lake Tahoe Basin. People can sponsor the turkeys for $20 each.
When representatives from the Pay it Forward Project read the El Dorado Community Foundation’s (EDCF) most recent newsletter, they saw the feature story about the El Dorado Community Turkey Drive in partnership with Kings Meats. This annual drive asks community members to sponsor turkeys at $20 each for El Dorado County families in need, so that everyone can have a turkey dinner for Thanksgiving, even if they would not normally be able to afford it.
The Pay It Forward Project is a fund at EDCF. They came forward after reading about the Turkey Drive with the offer to match the next 125 turkeys sponsored from local donors in the Tahoe Basin to assist those in the community. The Pay it Forward Project has several active programs as well as student scholarships available in the South Lake Tahoe area.
