California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers from South Lake Tahoe responded to a call at approximately 12:15 p.m. on October 11, on State Route 4 (SR4) west of Wolf Creek Road.
Upon arrival, they found a solo motorcycle collision. Their investigation revealed 63-year-old Jeff Seidl from Murphys, Calif., was riding his 2014 BMW R1200 motorcycle eastbound on the highway at approximately 50 mph. The collision occurred when the rider struck a rock, and the rider and his passenger were both ejected from the motorcycle.
The passenger, 62-year-old Nannette Seidl, also of Murphys, sustained major injuries, and the rider sustained moderate injuries.
They were both transported to Renown Medical Center in Reno.
