In recent years, the City Council had taken steps to allow every member the opportunity to serve as mayor. Unfortunately, that idea has been hijacked by partisan politics and strategies when there is a three to two majority to block certain people from ever becoming mayor.
Ten months ago when the council was tasked with their annual reorganization of council positions, Tami Wallace, let her unmasked disdain for Scott Robbins rear its head when she self nominated herself to be mayor for a second time blocking Scott from that position. Her unprofessional behavior toward Scott
during open session and on social media, made her unqualified to sit in the mayor’s seat. But that didn’t stop David Jinkens and Keith Roberts from going along with the plan.
As a point of reference, during the election of Scott Robbins, Cody Bass and Tamara Wallace, the community gave Scott the highest vote count and Tami the lowest number of votes of the three winners. So with the help and votes of the two newest elected members of Council, David Jinkens and Keith Roberts, Tami was made mayor for the second time, which in essence denied this community of their election voice.
Tami Wallace not only stole from the Presbyterian Church, she jumped in front of Scott Robbins and stole his opportunity to become mayor.
It is time for the council to stop all the petty political positioning by nominating and electing Scott Robbins as Mayor of the City of South Lake Tahoe.
