SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – In the annual South Lake Tahoe tradition, local elementary schools are getting their walk-a-thons in before the first snow falls.

This was the case Friday on the field at Sierra House Elementary. Hundreds of students donning their class t-shirts ran and/or walked the course set up on the field along Pioneer Trail.

Teachers, parents, siblings all joined in with Principal Karen Holmes, as did members from the Lake Tahoe Lakers ice hockey team of the United States Premier Hockey League.
