SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe (BGCLT) hosted a three-day weekend full of fundraising events to support local youth.
Kicking off Friday night, BGCLT partnered with the Tahoe Knight Monsters during their opening night, hosting a concessions stand to raise funds for the Club. The night raised $1,700 and provided a fun, engaging way for kids to see the positive impact of teamwork and sports, and the Club shares its thanks to the Tahoe Knight Monsters for their partnership.
Saturday night, the 3rd annual Comedy Show Dinner featured comedians performing for a great cause, with 50 attendees in the audience. The Barrel Room provided an intimate setting, ideal for a colder evening. Guests enjoyed a delicious buffet from MacDuff’s, including all their favorites – gourmet salads, mac n cheese, nuggets, shepherd’s pie and spinach dip. Comedians Mark Smalls, Joe Praino, Howie Nave, Sara Rooker, and Shanon Murphy delivered hilarious jokes that had the audience laughing all evening.
“This weekend was for the kids! We are so thrilled to immerse ourselves in the community, and so thankful for all who supported,” said Aimi Xistra-Rich, BGCLT director of development. “A huge shoutout to Joe Praino and all the comedians who donated their sets on Saturday night, to Iain, Ayden, Rose, and Chris for donating their time, and to Papi and the cooks for all the delicious food.”
The following day, 144 golfers turned out to show their support for local youth. It was a beautiful, sunny fall day at Edgewood, the host of this event for many years. Golfers started their day with Edgewood’s hot coffee and a variety of bagels from Tahoe Bagel Co. They collected box lunches from Beach Hut Deli, enjoyed a Tahoe Blue Bloody Mary Bar hosted by Cold Water Brewery and a Bushmill Coffee Bar hosted by Proximo Spirits. Before teeing off, they had the chance to enter a raffle featuring more than 15 prize packages from local businesses.

While golfers played, 20 guests enjoyed the new Paint & Sip Luncheon on Brooks Deck before moving to Edgewood’s North Room. Led by BGCLT Art Specialist Gina Stowell, attendees painted a beautiful depiction of Emerald Bay while enjoying wine courtesy of Lava Cap Winery.
“It was the perfect afternoon for painting,” said Stowell. “We had so much fun, and the views from the North Room were absolutely stunning.”
“This year’s Golf Classic brought together an incredible community of golfers, sponsors, painters, and volunteers who helped create a fun and memorable experience while making a meaningful impact,” said Mallory Mahon, BGCLT special events coordinator. “I’m thrilled to share that, thanks to everyone’s support, our weekend events raised more than $110,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe!”
