UPDATE 8 AM WEDNESDAY: The final election night summary from EL Dorado County was completed late Tuesday. All vote centers have been tallied and the current number of voters who submitted ballots is 72,030.

Proposition 50

NO – 41,276- 57.30%
YES – 30,754 – 42.70%.
Statewide, voters have approved to proposition that will redraw the congressional lines. At 8 a.m. Wednesday, the current count is 63.8% for, or 5,154,529 voters approving Prop. 50, and 36.% against, 2,927,923 voters.

10PM UPDATE: A few more ballots have been tabulated and posted for El Dorado County. At this time, 50.22% of registered voters have had their votes counted:

NO – 39,615 – 56.94%
YES – 29,960- 43.06%

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The polls closed at 8 p.m. Tuesday, and the first round of results for California were released shortly after. El Dorado County’s first set of tabulations was released at 8:09 p.m.

Proposition 50

Yes – 29,734 – 43.52%

No – 38,587 – 56.48%

The first release was for 68,393 ballots out of the 138,679 registered voters in El Dorado County, or 49.32%.

Statewide, Proposition 50 is passing with 64.7% of the vote as of 9:15 p.m. Tuesday. 4,501,382 ballots had been counted at that time.

As of October 20, 2025, El Dorado County had the following:

Republican: 58,448 (~ 42%) – Democratic: 41,032 (~ 30%) – No Party Preference: 26,896 (~ 19%) – American Independent: 8,476 (~ 6%) – Libertarian: 2,692 – Green: 672 – Peace and Freedom: 463
