SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – It wasn’t your typical ask for food to fill backpacks with weekend food for South Lake Tahoe children. Bread & Broth 4 Kids (BB4K) held a Cram-A-Hearse event in front of the Grocery Outlet just before Halloween. They typically stuff a police cruiser with food, but because a local volunteer owns a hearse and it was almost Halloween – why not change the vehicle?
It was so fun and every child that came by received an ice cream, a bag of candy, and a stuffed animal, all from Peter Spellman, the owner of the hearse.
Bread & Broth volunteers were joined by SOS Outreach and the Tahoe Hockey Academy to fill the hearse with food (more than once) and collect $450 in cash.
