
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The snow is continuing to fall Monday morning after a very windy night in advance of the storm. Even though the Winter Storm Warning is in place through early Wednesday there could be a break in the snow on Monday from approximately 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Road Condition at 7:30 a.m. Monday:
R-2 Chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles except four-wheel/all-wheel drive vehicles with snow-tread tires on all four wheels. (Four-wheel/all-wheel drive vehicles must carry traction devices in chain control areas):
US 50 from Sand Flat to Meyers
SR 89 from Christmas Valley to Picketts Junction
SR 88 from Picketts Junction to Dew Drop
SR 88 from Picketts Junction to Paynesville
SR 89 from Ebrights to Tahoma
SR 267 from Kings Beach to Truckee
I 80 from Baxter to Nevada State Line
SR 28 from Spooner Summit to San Harbor
US 50 from Glenbrook to MM 1 near Carson City (Spooner Summit)
SR 207 from US 50 to Dagget Pass chain-up area (Kingsbury Grade)
SR 431 from Incline Village to Fairview Ave (Mt Rose Highway)
R-1 Chains are required on all vehicles except passenger vehicles and light-duty trucks under 6,000 pounds gross weight and equipped with snow tires on at least two drive wheels. Chains must be carried by vehicles using snow tires. All vehicles towing trailers must have chains on one drive axle. Trailers with brakes must have chains on at least one axle:
