SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe (BGCLT) raised $60,412 during the 2025-26 Back to School Snack Match campaign, allowing them to provide healthy, delicious and filling snacks for South Lake Tahoe children. Generous donors matched all donations made between September 1 and October 31, 2025.

“We are so thankful to be supported by the Tahoe community, especially in fundraising efforts related to providing food for kids,” said Aimi Xistra, director of development at the Club. “Generous donors made this match a possibility, and our community stepped up and made it a success.”

In 2024, BGCLT served over 42,000 snacks, and they expect to exceed that number in 2025 as the Club expanded for the third consecutive year. The largest challenges are funding cuts and rises in food costs, and some of their funding has restrictions on what can be purchased.

BGCLT will continue to fundraise for its food programs in collaboration with Base Camp Pizza through May 2026. For all garlic chips purchased, $1 goes back to the Club. A large fundraiser will take place at Base Camp Pizza on May 4, 2026.

Did you know that all children in Tahoe can visit any of the four BGCLT Club Sites and receive a snack? Kids aged 4 – 19 years of age can go to the front desk at any site and request a snack; one will be provided.

Since 1991, the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe (BGCLT) has provided South Tahoe youth a safe place to learn and grow. With passion and determination, Club staff and volunteers serve more than 700 children annually with a mission to empower all young people to reach their full potential. Youth participants receive academic support and engage in a variety of enriching and educational opportunities in the arts, STEM, sports and recreation, character and leadership development, and other areas that promote social, emotional, and physical well-being.

BGCLT is the only after-school program on Tahoe’s south shore that welcomes young people at every grade level from ages 4 to 18. Programs and activities operate in four locations, the Angel of Tahoe Clubhouse as well as three offsite locations, Bijou Community School, Magnet Elementary School and Tahoe Valley Elementary.
