WASHINGTON, D.C. –  Today, Congressman Kevin Kiley (CA-03) voted in favor of releasing the Epstein files, reaffirming his commitment to transparency, accountability, and justice for the survivors.

“Throughout this process, I have consistently supported transparency, while ensuring that the privacy and dignity of victims remain fully protected,” said Congressman Kiley. “Both the victims and the American people deserve clear answers so that we can confront the truth, pursue justice, and move forward. This should not be a partisan issue.”

The House voted 427-1 with GOP Rep. Clay Higgins of Louisiana the only member voting against it. The bill is now onto the Senate.

The congressman also issued the following statement in response to a federal court ruling that blocked Texas from using its newly drawn congressional map in next year’s midterm election.

“It is clearer than ever that there are no ‘winners’ in this foolish redistricting war,” Rep. Kiley said. “It is not too late for Speaker Johnson to do the right thing by supporting my bill to end this madness.”

In August 2025, Kiley introduced H.R. 4889, a bill to prohibit mid-decade redistricting for congressional districts nationwide. The legislation would ban states from redrawing congressional district maps more than once after a decennial census, except for court-ordered redistricting to comply with the Constitution or the Voting Rights Act. Kiley introduced the bill in response to a potential push for mid-decade redistricting in California and to prevent a “redistricting war” across the country.

The bill was introduced in the House of Representatives in August 2025 and referred to the House Judiciary Committee. It has not yet been brought to a vote.
