SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Vista Rise (formerly Live Violence Free) has officially launched its annual Gift-A-Holiday program! This year brings an unprecedented number of wish lists from local survivors of intimate partner violence and their children. More than 170 individuals and families who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, or child abuse in 2025 are hoping for a little extra light this holiday season.
The community’s support is needed to fulfill every wish list before the deadline. By choosing an ornament and purchasing gifts, donors can make a tax-deductible contribution that brings comfort, joy, and dignity to local survivors and their children.
“Every day, our staff sit with survivors through some of the most painful moments of their lives,” said Vista Rise leadership. “During the holidays, there’s a different tone, a bit more hope, when survivors learn that someone in our community has chosen their ornament and is lifting them up with care.”
The Gift-A-Holiday program directly supports individuals receiving Vista Rise services, including safe housing, therapy, and crisis intervention. These small acts of generosity create a profound impact.
Stop by Vista Rise at 2941 Lake Tahoe Blvd and pick your ornament off of our in-person tree, or go online to vistarise.org/gift to browse all the same ornaments on our virtual tree. (Please note that the link will take you directly to the website SignUpGenius.)
Key Logistics:
- Deadline: All gifts must be delivered to Vista Rise by Wednesday, December 10, 2025.
- Gift Wrapping: All children’s gifts must be left unwrapped.
- Bonus Donation: We also need donations of wrapping paper and gift bags of all sizes to help the parents prepare the gifts themselves.
Vista Rise extends sincere gratitude to the South Lake Tahoe and Alpine County communities for helping make the season brighter for those impacted by violence this year.
