
South Lake Tahoe and Gardnerville men were arrested in Douglas County on November 19, 2017 on suspicion of drug trafficking and related charges.
At 7:37 p.m., deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) responded to the area of Raab Court for a report of a suspicious vehicle with occupants. Upon arrival to the area, a deputy observed a vehicle matching the description leaving the area and a traffic stop was initiated due to observed traffic violations. After a warrants check the passenger identified as Patrick MacRoberts, 45, from South Lake Tahoe, Calif. was arrested for two warrants.
After a search of the vehicle, the driver identified as Clinton Neely, 34 from Gardnerville, was arrested on charges of Trafficking in Methamphetamine (more than 28 grams), Possession of a Hypodermic Needle, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Driving without Tail Lights and No Driver’s License in Possession.
MacRoberts also was charged with Trafficking in Cocaine (more than 4 grams), Trafficking in Methamphetamine (more than 4 grams), Possession of Heroin, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. MacRoberts was on probation in El Dorado County and El Dorado County placed a probation violation hold on him.
DCSO said they appreciate the public’s eyes and ears in the community, giving them a better chance of covering a large region as they cannot be everywhere.
“Safety is a community effort,” DCSO said in a press release. “The public needs to participate. There are over 47,000 residents in Douglas County that assist DCSO in keeping Douglas County safe. DCSO appreciates that an observant resident saw a suspicious occupied vehicle and took the time to call it in.
