SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Little Hurricane will be bringing their dirty, dirty blues to the Divided Sky in South Lake Tahoe this Saturday evening as they wrap up their Fall Tour. This was the first tour with the new 3-piece lineup, including Ryan Kronenburg and Hattie Craven, as well as original member Anthony “Tone” Catalano. In tow will be special guests Red Dirt Ruckus – Trio Grande. Guitar player and frontman Catalano first started the band with Celeste “CC” Spina in San Diego, California, back in 2010.
Catalano began playing guitar in middle school, taking home an electric guitar much to his mother’s dismay, who was hoping for a start on the classical guitar. It seems that the electric guitar wasn’t such a bad choice overall, as it led him to build a foundation in the jazz band in high school and then eventually start Little Hurricane. Previous to starting the band, Catalano worked as a recording engineer for major artists such as Gwen Stefani, Neil Young, and more. After taking a break around the time of the COVID-19 pandemic, Catalano is breathing new life into his band with a whole new lineup.
The newest iteration will include Ryan Kronenburg on the drums and multi-instrumentalist Hattie Craven. Kronenburg is well known in the area for his contributions to the music scene, from running sound for major shows to organizing popular music festivals such as Hangtown Halloween Ball and the Golden Road Gathering, which will be enjoying its 4th trip around the sun this upcoming May in Placerville. Kronenburg is also a killer drummer, which will be put on full display Saturday night.
Hattie Craven has been making music her entire life, first taking the stage as a four-year-old at the Kate Wolf Music Festival, on the fiddle of all instruments. She is an incredible vocalist in addition to the multiple instruments in her repertoire, and performed as an “Artist at Large” at the 3rd annual Golden Road Gathering this past May. Hattie is also the daughter of Joe Craven, a multi-instrumentalist who has played with many major artists, including David Grisman and even Jerry Garcia.
