SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe (HSTT) will permanently close its current South Lake Tahoe office location Dec. 31, 2025. • Tuesdays-Fridays: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 9 a.m.-noon
  • Closed Christmas Day

HSTT’s free Pet Pantry program will continue, with distribution moving to two community partner locations to make access even easier for families in need.

Pet food will be available at:

  • Bread and Broth (starting Dec. 20):
    • Mondays from 4-5:30 p.m. at Grace Hall, 1041 Lyons Ave.

  • Phoenix Food Pantry (starting Dec. 17)
    • Every other Wednesday from 10:30 a.m.–noon at Lake Tahoe Presbyterian Church, 2733 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

Beginning in January, HSTT’s South Lake Tahoe manager will transition to a co-working space and will be available part-time via phone or email to assist the community, coordinate services and support ongoing programs.

Although the current physical office is closing, HSTT will continue offering the full range of services the South Lake Tahoe community relies on, including:

  • Community spay/neuter services
  • Pet Pantry distribution
  • Community pet medical grants
  • Low-cost microchip and vaccine clinics
