SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – A fight between two women in South Lake Tahoe on Tuesday evening turned into a stabbing incident, with one woman hospitalized.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., two females who were known to each other got into a physical altercation, according to the South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) Lt. Scott Crivelli. During the altercation, one of the females grabbed a knife and struck the other in the forehead.

People at the scene were able to break up the fight, and one called 911. The victim was transported to the hospital, where she was treated and released.

The suspect fled, but has been identified. 

Crivelli said the case is now with SLTPD detectives and they’re actively working on it.
