SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Ambassador Lodge has announced its recent re-opening following an extensive renovation of the almost sixty-year-old, 57-room hotel.
Constructed in 1965, Ambassador Lodge is one of the oldest and most well-designed lodges in the tourist zone of South Lake Tahoe and is conveniently located within walking distance of many South Tahoe attractions including Heavenly Ski Resort, Tahoe Blue Event Center, Edgewood Golf Course, four major casinos, shopping and dining experiences, and more.
Like so many other Tahoe Basin transplants, Ambassador Lodge owner, Shawn Massihpour, instantly found Lake Tahoe to be the most beautiful lake his eyes had ever seen. This experience helped make his decision to purchase the property in May of 2012 an easy one.
In a story shared with many local businesses, Ambassador Lodge saw a significant decline in business during the pandemic but decided to make the most of the circumstances by launching a complete renovation of the hotel’s interior.
“Our recent renovations include brand new furniture, mattresses, linen, appliances, and lighting fixtures, which essentially means brand new rooms for our guests”, said Shawn. “All rooms and suites have allergy-free laminate flooring with clean white color interior walls and all white bathroom finishes so you know it’s really clean.”
The next steps for improvements include a renovation of the pool and the outdoor facilities this coming spring to be completed by June 2025.
