12PM UPDATE: The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office confirms the child has been located and is safe. The Sheriff’s Office thanks the public for its support, tips and leads. No other information has been released.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. – On Dec. 12, 2025, at approximately 7:03 a.m., it was reported to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) that a young female was riding a scooter southbound on Highway 395 in Douglas County, Nevada, in the area of Silver City RV Park. DCSO responded to the area and located the scooter, but no child was found. The child is believed to be of elementary age.   

She is described as approximately 9 years old, with light brown, curly hair about shoulder length, wearing a black mini skirt, no leggings or pants, an olive green backpack, and Converse shoes. 

The Sheriff’s Office continues to search the area but needs assistance from the pubic with any information.
