DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has identified the two individuals involved in the shooting on Dennis Street on Monday. They have been identified as Kathy Jean Weiland, 63, and Gregory Raymond Ward, 63.
Weiland was pronounced dead at the scene and Ward is being treated at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno. This is an active homicide investigation.
DCSO investigators say it appears that Ward shot Weiland and then shot himself attempting to commit suicide.
