LAKE TAHOE/RENO, Nev. – The 4th annual Lucky Beaver Toy Drive was a tremendous success, bringing together staff, loyal customers, and family members in a powerful show of generosity to support families throughout the Lake Tahoe and Reno regions during the holiday season.
Over the course of the drive, hundreds of new toys were generously donated at Lucky Beaver locations. Toys collected in the Lake Tahoe area were delivered to Christmas Cheer All Year, supporting families in South Lake Tahoe, while toys collected at the Reno location were delivered directly to Toys for Tots to benefit children in the Reno community. Both organizations expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming support and generosity.
Widely known as Northern Nevada’s Best Burger for 11 years running, and recognized as Northern Nevada’s #1 Poker Bar, Lucky Beaver continues to demonstrate that its impact goes far beyond award-winning food and entertainment. The restaurant is deeply rooted in community and giving back.
“This toy drive is one of the most meaningful things we do each year,” said owner Mike Leeper. “Being voted the best burger in Northern Nevada year after year is an honor, but what truly defines Lucky Beaver is our people. Seeing our staff, customers, and their families rally together like this is incredibly humbling. These toys represent hope, kindness, and the spirit of the holidays.”
The Reno location saw record-breaking participation this year, underscoring the strong connection between Lucky Beaver and the local community.
“This was hands down our best year ever,” said Chris Lessig, general manager of Lucky Beaver Reno. “Our customers participated immensely. The turnout and generosity were incredible, and it really shows how passionate this community is about giving back to local families.”

Knowing these toys went directly to Christmas Cheer All Year in Tahoe and Toys for Tots in Reno makes this year’s success especially meaningful.”
Now in its fourth year, the Lucky Beaver Toy Drive has become a cherished holiday tradition, reinforcing the organization’s ongoing commitment to community involvement, generosity, and making a positive impact well beyond its doors.
