We are all aware of the large donations Lisa Maloff has made to Barton Health, Lake Tahoe Community College, Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe, Whittell High School and numerous nonprofits around the basin.

To date Ms. Maloff, known as the “Angel of Tahoe,” has donated $40 million throughout the South Shore. Now her loyal friend and companion Ricky Reich is spreading holiday cheer to dozens of local radio listeners.

Starting November 6 until Christmas, Reich will be giving away $500 daily to one lucky listener during Howie Nave’s KRLT morning show (except for a few days when Howie heads to a relative’s wedding).

About two months ago Ms. Maloff gave everyone in her will their inheritance ahead of time, and Reich was one of those recipients. Since then he has been giving money to several organizations and people around the community, a total of about $150,000 to date.

And now he continues to pay it forward.

Every time Howie mentions the “Angel of Tahoe” during his 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Monday through Friday show, one lucky listener will get a check for $500.

Reich was hired to remodel a condo for Mr. and Mrs. Maloff several years ago, and upon completion Lisa bought him a new work truck. He continued to help the couple and he is now her representative.

“She wants to give away all of her money,” said Reich who is following her lead in giving back to the community.

“As if living in this area wasn’t wonderful and beautiful enough, knowing someone giving from their heard just reinforces how special this community is,” said Nave.

Howie Nave’s show can be heard on 93.9 FM and callers may phone in at (775) 586-9399. The show can also be heard on line at www.krltfm.com. All of rules are listed on the website.
