SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – El Dorado County health officials say there have been an additional eight cases of COVID-19 in the county since yesterday. None of those are in the Lake Tahoe area, six were in El Dorado Hills, and one each in Greater Placerville and South County.

Of the new cases, five are aged 18-49, and two aged 50-64.

An additional 180 tests were administered and 172 tests came back negative.

There have been six assumed recoveries with no confirmed patients in the hospital. There is one suspected case in the ICU.

To date, two county residents have died.

El Dorado County is currently in the red/substantial tier of reopening. To move to the orange/moderate tier, the average daily rate of new cases needs to be four per 100,000 residents, and positivity rate of five percent for the previous two weeks. See more HERE.

The County dashboard shows cases by episode date, not by the date El Dorado County Public Health was notified about the new case. Episode date is the earliest of the following dates: (symptom onset date, diagnosis date, specimen collection date, date received, or date of death) and serves as the best approximation of the date of infection.

The 7-day positivity rate for El Dorado County is 2.0 percent, and the 14-day rate of new cases is 52. The Lake Tahoe region just moved from the High (case rate per 100,000 population over the previous 14 days of 100 or greater) to moderate with much of the rest of the county (case rate per 100,000 population over the previous 14 days of 26-99). Two areas are now in the low range (25 or less per 100,000 for last 14 days).

County-wide there have been 988 cases with 444 of those in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

Quad-Counties – Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting eleven new cases and four additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County Region. This brings the total number of cases to 1,057, with 943 recoveries and fifteen deaths, 99 cases remain active.

The new cases are:
• A male Carson City resident in his 50’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident under the age of 18 with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident under the age of 18 with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 40’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Douglas County resident in his 20’s with no connection to a previously reported case
• A male Carson City resident in his 70’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 60’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Lyon County resident in her 20’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 20’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Lyon County resident in her 30’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident under the age of 18 with a connection to a previously reported case.

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released.

Lake Tahoe area cases – 23 (+0) are in Tahoe City, 77 (-1) in Kings Beach, 8 (+0) in Olympic Village, 17 (+0) in Truckee, 7 (+0) in Carnelian Bay.

Their seven-day test rate is 6.4 percent positive, and 14-day case rate is 4.96 per 100,000. Seven-day increase is 4.5 percent, 14-day increase is 14.4 percent.
