SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The week will start off with the Lake Tahoe Basin under two different weather advisories. Starting at midnight, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 4:00 p.m. on Monday for areas above 7000 feet. Snow is expected. Total snow accumulations of 3-8 inches above 7000 feet. Slushy accumulations around an inch possible at lake level. Winds gusting to 40-45 mph with gusts near 100 mph across mountain ridgetops.

Plan on snow covered passes and travel impacts Monday morning including Donner Summit (I-80), Echo Summit (US-50), and Carson Pass (CA-88).

A Lake Wind Advisory is in effect from midnight to midnight tomorrow night. Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are expected. Waves 2 to 4 feet with the highest waves expected on the eastern shore.

Tuesday – Mostly sunny, with a high near 40. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming north in the morning.
