SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Former South Lake Tahoe mayor, councilwoman, and life-long El Dorado County resident Brooke Laine has announced her candidacy for El Dorado County Board of Supervisors District V. She is the fourth candidate to announce their candidacy to run for the seat being vacated by Sue Novasel who is terming out.
District V covers the county portions at Lake Tahoe (South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Tahoma, Meeks Bay), and along US50 to Pollock Pines.
Laine has had a successful career in banking with both US Bank and Bank of the West, and operated the long-time family photography business, Laine Photolabs, Inc. She is married, a mother, and a member of Soroptimist of South Lake Tahoe.
She received a degree in economics from UC Santa Cruz.
Laine said she understands the diversity of District V and will work to represent the issues that are important: fire and public safety, health care, insurance cancellations, infrastructure improvements, climate change, housing, traffic, vacation home rental enforcement, tourism, snow removal, and other issues as they arise.
