
South Lake Tahoe police are looking for a man who attacked and attempted to rape a 25-year-old woman on New Year’s Eve after she accepted a ride from the suspect.
The man is described as white, about 25 years old, 5 foot, seven inches tall and about 150 pounds with a thin build. His hair was wavy brown, about 2 inches on the top and about 1-inch on the sides and had about a week’s worth of facial stubble.
The suspect was driving a pickup, described as an older model white Ford with a manual transmission and black cloth seats.
The Tahoe Daily Tribune reports the victim was attending the Snow Globe concert, became separated from her friends, and accepted a ride from the man in the area of Johnson Lane between Al Tahoe Boulevard and Highway 50.

On 12-31-12 a 25 year old female victim reported an attempted rape to SLTPD. During the evening hours of New Year’s Eve the victim agreed to accept a ride from the suspect, who promised to drive her (in his pickup truck) directly to the residence where she was staying; the suspect was unknown to the victim.
The suspect then drove around for about 10 minutes before parking the truck. He explained he was trying to use his GPS to find the house. The suspect then attacked the victim. During the struggle, the suspect was able to pull down the victim’s pants. The victim continued to resist however, ultimately escaping from the suspect and
running away. She fled through unfamiliar areas until she was finally able to find her friend’s house. No one was yet home. She was able get inside the house, where she took refuge until her friends returned.The pickup truck is described as an older white Ford with a manual transmission and black cloth seats. The victim is unsure if the truck was a super cab or a crew cab. The suspect was described as a white male, about 25 years old, 5’-07” and about 150 pounds with a skinny build. His hair was wavy brown, about 2” on the top and about 1” on the sides. The victim estimated he had a week’s worth of facial stubble.
As part of the investigation, the victim sat with a composite sketch artist to render a likeness of the suspect.
