A two car collision on the lake side of Kingsbury Grade at 2:08 pm on Friday sent 4 women to the hospital.

A black Toyota Yaris with 3 female passengers was traveling westbound on Highway 207, Kingsbury Grade. For an unknown reason, the car crossed the center line and hit a white Subaru being driven by a female headed eastbound. The accident took place about 2 miles up Kingsbury from Highway 50 in South Lake Tahoe.

All 4 women were injured. Two were transferred by ambulance and the other two were seriously injured and transferred by Care Flight, all to Renown Medical Center in Reno, NV according to Tropper Dan Lopez of the Nevada Highway Patrol. No names have been released as of yet.

The road was closed as the accident was cleared up and is now open to one lane of traffic. Lopez expects both lanes of traffic to be opened by 5:30 pm. He advises drivers to find an alternative route until then.
