Authorities have identified the suspected shooter in last week’s drive-by shooting in South Lake Tahoe.
Samuel Tovar, 26, of South Lake Tahoe is wanted for shooting at a 19-year-old man who was standing in a lot near the corner of Highway 50 and Ski Run Boulevard just before midnight on October 14, 2015. Police were called when the unidentified victim showed up at Barton Hospital with gunshot wounds to his leg.
The truck that Tovar is suspected of driving away from the crime scene was found abandoned early the next morning at the “Y”.
El Dorado County investigators are helping the South Lake Tahoe Police Department with the case since SLTPD is short-handed after the loss of officer Mark Hounsell on Saturday. The County D.A. put out a “wanted” poster on their popular facebook page which has r/esulted in many captures. –
It is unknown if Tovar is the member of a gang but they do believe he acted alone in the shooting. Tovar also goes by the names of Primo and David Angeles.
