SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The week ahead doesn’t have any storms on the horizon, but an early glimpse at the start of the following week may have some changes. Expect it to be breezy with east to northeast winds on and off through Wednesday with below-normal temperatures.
We are getting into that time of year for inversions, with the current pattern being favorable Monday and Thursday-Saturday for warming temperatures aloft. Air stagnation with haze and pollutant buildups are likely in the valleys and urban areas, without Lake Tahoe being affected.
The National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno says there is the potential for a moderate winter storm early next week, centered on Monday. Rain, snow, and wind impacts are too soon to call. Saturday looks like a good day to get those outside chores completed.
