SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The weekly forecast for Lake Tahoe starts off with a Lake Wind Advisory on Martin Luther King Day. The advisory is in place for Monday from 4 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the Greater Lake Tahoe area including South Lake Tahoe, Tahoe City, Truckee, Glenbrook, Stateline, Markleeville, and Incline Village. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno expects winds from the east 15-20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. Waves could be 2-3 feet high. The easterly wind brings cold temperatures, with Monday’s high at 34, and low at 11 – just as a reminder it is January.
High pressure builds back into the area Tuesday through Thursday and temperatures will warm back up to average for Tuesday-Wednesday, and above average for Thursday-Friday. Temperatures drop back to below normal for the weekend. The week looks to be dry though there is a chance of some showers on the outskirts of the region and a small chance of snow.
