SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – A GoFundMe account has been set up for Cindy O’Day, who will be undergoing surgery this week to remove a tumor on her kidney. The El Dorado Savings Bank staff member found out about three months ago that she had stage one kidney cancer. Thankfully, the doctors did catch it early; however, the tumor on her kidney must be removed to prevent any further complications or spreading.
She’ll go in for surgery on Tuesday, June 10, to have the tumor removed and is looking at a hospital stay of about five days before being released and going home for more recovery.
Her coworkers started the GoFundMe to help with expenses. The surgery will put Cindy out of work for a while, and she needs some extra help to get by, to pay bills and rent while recovering. There will also be some extra doctor bills to pay.
Cindy has been in Tahoe almost her entire life and has many friends and family here in town. Many of the customers at the Al Tahoe Branch of the bank love her dearly.
