SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The Lake Tahoe Historical Society is bringing back its popular summer speaker series at Lakeview Commons – Tahoe History Talks on the Beach. On Tuesday, June 24, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the public will be treated to the Borges brothers – Don, Dwight, Dean, and Dave (sometimes mistaken for the Cartwright Brothers of Bonanza’s famed Ponderosa Ranch). They will entertain
and inform attendees with a variety of stories about Lake Tahoe’s history. Dave will share the history of Charles Preuss. Preuss, though overshadowed by Frémont
in popular memory, was known for his precise cartography that laid the groundwork for westward expansion and remains a landmark in American mapmaking.
Wrapping up the presentation will be the traditional group sing-along of the theme song from Bonanza.
Admission is free, though donations to the Historical Society are appreciated. Seating is on the lake side of Lakeview Commons.
