Casinos on the South Shore of Lake Tahoe had a gaming “win” of $16,742,788 in March, 2.3 percent less than they did in the same month last year according to a report released today by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
The gaming “win” represents the computed income of casinos before business expenses and taxes.
Even with a loss in March, local casinos are still 5.45 percent up from 2016.
Nevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $991,023,123 for the month of March 2017. This amounts to a 7.45 percent increase compared to March 20176, when licensees reported a gaming win of 922,329,184. For the fiscal year (July 1, 2016 through March 31, 2017), gaming win has increased 3.23 percent.
North Shore casino win of $1,736,405 was up 7.35 percent.
Washoe County – $69,011,310, up 8.06 percent.
Carson Valley – $8,334,463, up 1.47 percent.
The biggest winner in the state were the casinos in downtown Las Vegas where income was up 22.61 percent.
