I agree with contributor, Nicole Ramirez Thomas’ letter to South Tahoe Now regarding the proposed resolution of the South Lake Tahoe City Council to recommend voting against State Proposition 50. State Proposition 50 is not the collective business of the constituency of the South Lake Council. It is a STATE OF CALIFORNIA Proposition, which belongs to the California registered voters, and our City of South Lake Tahoe has plenty of issues to resolve in its NON-partisan capacity. I strongly resent the City of SLT spending any time or taxpayer dollars to talk about or propose (much less endorse) a State Proposition that obviously has partisan origin and support.
The City of South Lake Tahoe City Council and administration, needs to focus on the urgent issues at hand; that is, Current ethical problems and the filling the current seat of the Council & Mayor position, and the rest of a full agenda that does not mix the political partisan opinions of those elected to represent the City of South Lake Tahoe, and try to represent the State!
I truly hope El Dorado County does not try to propose any endorsement of Prop 50. Again, it is a California Proposition, and not the business of the City or County.
