LAKE TAHOE, Nev. – NV Energy has issued a PSOM (Public Safety Outage Management) proactive shut-off for multiple communities in Northern Nevada due to high winds. This affects the following zones:

While NV Energy may de-energize anywhere in its service territory, PSOM zones are areas with a higher chance of these types of power outages. They encourage all customers living in a PSOM zone to update their information and notification preferences in MyAccount. Please note that each PSOM zone is monitored individually. A PSOM event may be called in one zone and not another, based on unique weather conditions.

Liberty has also shut off electricity in areas in Alpine County for safety reasons due to the high winds. There is also an outage in the Meyers area as of 9:15 a.m. For a Liberty Outage map, visit HERE.
