Charles (Chet) Cullers Warren passed away on November 10, 2025, at the age of 56. Born on January 8, 1969, in Mountain View, California, Chet lived a life full of adventure, laughter, and love.
Chet spent much of his life up and down the West Coast, ultimately finding his home in Lake Tahoe, where he lived for the past 28 years. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend whose warmth and sense of humor touched everyone he met.
A proud second-generation firefighter, Chet dedicated many years to wildland firefighting and was especially proud of his time working on Copter 404 out of Columbia, Calif. His courage, commitment, and passion for the job left a lasting impact, and his nephew Jasen proudly followed in his footsteps to continue the family tradition of service.
An avid outdoorsman, Chet found joy in every season—whether hunting, fishing, golfing, boating, or camping. He was also a lifelong sports fan, always cheering for his San Francisco Giants and his Raiders.
In recent years, Chet loved traveling extensively with Stefanie, their son Skilier, their beloved pets, and many close friends and loved ones. Those adventures created memories that will be cherished forever by all who shared them.
Above all, Chet treasured time spent with family and friends—many of whom became family over the years. He will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his loyalty, and the deep love he shared with those around him. His legacy lives on in the stories told around campfires, the laughter of friends, and the beauty of the great outdoors he so deeply loved.
Chet is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Stefanie; his son, Skilier, and Skilier’s mother, Rochelle; his sisters, Kathy Vela (Pat) and Lisa Leist (Norm); his brother, Ron Rhodes (Debbie); and many nieces and nephews who adored him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM at McFarlane Mortuary, 887 Emerald Bay Rd, South Lake Tahoe, Calif. Family and friends are warmly invited to join in honoring and remembering Chet’s remarkable life. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream link will be shared at a later date.
