SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The South Lake Tahoe City Council will vote at its next meeting on November 18 how to proceed in filling the one-year vacancy on the council created with the resignation of Tamara Wallace.

The Council has three options at the 5:30 p.m. meeting. 1) Select one of the applicants to fill the position; 2) Pass a motion directing the City Clerk to continue soliciting new applications from additional candidates for consideration December 9 or at an earlier special meeting; or 3) Pass a motion directing the City Clerk to bring back a Resolution at the December 9 meeting calling for a Special Election to be consolidated with the June 2, 2026, Primary Election, to fill the vacancy.

Twenty-six residents have applied for the short-term position. The person ultimately selected by the council or in an election will fill the remainder of Wallace’s term through 2026. In the November 2026 election, there will be three open council seats: the ones held by the short-term replacement, Cody Bass and Scott Robbins.
