SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The next meeting of the South Lake Tahoe City Council will be held on Tuesday, January 27, at 5:30 p.m. in the council chambers at the airport.

There will be a public hearing on the tentative map for the Old Colony Inn Residences for condominium purposes. The project, located on Montreal Road behind Target, will be the site of a 30-unit multi-family project, and the hearing is to approve the airspace above the units in order to make them condominiums. On September 19, 2024, the Planning Commission approved a 30-unit multi-family project, and on November 13, 2025, the Planning Commission adopted a resolution recommending that the City Council approve the Tentative Subdivision Map for the residences.

Since the City Manager Joe Irvin has resigned, effective February 17, staff requested proposals for executive search firm services in December, and they received 15 of them. That list has been narrowed by staff to eight. Council will consider those proposals and hold interviews. The anticipated cost for services is between $25,000 –
$63,000. Until a new manager is hired, the council will vote on a salary for Hillary Roverud, who is proposed for appointment as interim city manager. Roverud is the current assistant city manager.

Council will also vote on a motion authorizing an amended agreement with the South Shore Transportation Management Association (SS/TMA) for $3,050,000 to provide three years of the microtransit system Lake Link, including its expansion citywide, and an additional $200,000 for microtransit service from parking garage revenues. This second commitment unlocks state funds through SB125. Part of the proposed agreement includes at least one electric Lake Link vehicle to be put into service.
