SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – An 8-year-old boy fell approximately 30 feet from the Grandview Chair at Sierra-at-Tahoe at approximately1:20 p.m. on Sunday.
According to a resort spokesperson, the fall occurred near the top terminal of the lift. Their ski patrol responded, provided first aid, and transported the patient to the base area.
Lake Valley Fire Protection District paramedics and CalStar 6, with two flight nurses on board, arrived immediately at the base and transferred the injured boy to Renown Medical Center.
LVFPD Battalion Chief Perry Quinn said both their vehicle and the helicopter arrived on scene at the same time. Due to the patient’s age and the distance of the fall, CalStar transport was requested.
At this time, there is no information on the patient’s condition.
