SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The weekly forecast for Lake Tahoe begins and ends with a chance of upper elevation snow, and in between will be a couple of sunny days in the upper 60s.

Expect chances for showers to slowly decrease Monday and Tuesday, with a gradual warming trend, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno. Expect drier and warmer weather for mid-late week, then shower chances may return by late next weekend.

Monday

A chance of snow showers before 2 pm, then a chance of rain and snow showers between 2 pm and 5 pm, then a chance of rain showers after 5 pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 48. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon. The chance of precipitation is 50%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Monday Night

A slight chance of rain showers, mixing with snow after 8 pm, then gradually ending. Snow level 7100 feet, lowering to 6400 feet after midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 27. Northwest wind around 5 mph, becoming calm in the evening. The chance of precipitation is 20%.

Tuesday

A 30 percent chance of showers after 11 am. Snow level 6400 feet rising to 7800 feet in the afternoon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 56. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph.
