SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The roller coaster continues in the Lake Tahoe Basin this week, with some long-awaited temperatures in the 80s as well as a chance of rain and upper elevation snow mid-week.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno said possible record highs each afternoon through Tuesday. Typical zephyr-type west-southwest breezes (gusts up to around 25 mph) are also expected each afternoon through Tuesday.

For Wednesday-Thursday, confidence is high that temperatures will cool from near-record levels as the upper ridge gives way to an area of low pressure arriving from the eastern Pacific. However, for precipitation chances and wind, confidence is low, but a chance remains in the forecast.
