The choirs of South Tahoe High School and South Tahoe Middle School brought home top honors after a successful showing at a choir festival held May 16 in Vallejo, California.
The South Tahoe High School Viking Choir, directed by Allyssa Little, and the South Tahoe Middle School Timberwolf Choir, directed by Chris Cromwell, performed at American Canyon High School as part of the festival competition before traveling to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom for the awards ceremony and an afternoon of celebration.
The Viking Choir earned first place in its division and placed third overall among all high school choirs in attendance. The group received a “Superior” rating — the highest rating awarded at the festival. In addition, student vocalist Emmaleigh Sennings was recognized with the Outstanding High School Vocalist award for her exceptional performance.
The Timberwolf Choir also delivered an impressive performance, earning first place in its division with an “Excellent” rating. The middle school ensemble additionally captured first place overall among all middle school choirs at the event. Student Julia Paul received the Outstanding Middle School Vocalist award.
Both choirs represented the South Tahoe community with pride, showcasing their musical talent, dedication, and hard work throughout the festival season.
