When Measure S was approved in 2000, it was for bike paths, ball fields, and an ice rink.  The original intent was for an ice rink only. When the proponents of this saw they didn’t have the votes for a $5 million rink, they added the bike paths and the ball fields so they could get the votes.

They did, and Measure S passed. The ice rink has been a failure, but bike paths and ball fields are a success. Measure  S said nothing about Tahoe Paradise Park; it was in the county, not the city. The TPP was added to secure funding. The park was a selling tool of the developers of Tahoe Paradise and applied to those who bought land in the development. As an El Dorado County voter of 53 years, I urge you to vote No on G.

The park was never part of Measure S, which I supported.
