SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The Rotary Club of South Lake Tahoe is asking the community to help expand its Rotary Mobility program through donations of gently used mobility and medical equipment.
Rotary Mobility is a free community program that collects and redistributes mobility equipment to residents and visitors in need. The program helps individuals recovering from injuries, surgeries, or medical conditions obtain essential equipment at no cost.
Due to growing demand, the program is currently in greatest need of:
- Wheelchairs
- Knee scooters
- Canes
- Walkers with seats
- Shower chairs
- Transfer benches
While the program regularly receives donations of crutches, supplies of other mobility items remain limited.
“Many people have mobility equipment stored in garages or closets after a recovery or after a loved one no longer needs it,” said the Rotary Club of South Lake Tahoe. “These items can make an immediate difference for someone in our community who may not be able to afford them or obtain them quickly through insurance.”
Rotary Mobility helps reduce waste by keeping reusable medical equipment in circulation while supporting community members during difficult times.
The program serves both local residents and visitors to the South Lake Tahoe area and operates entirely through community support and volunteer efforts.
Community members interested in donating equipment or learning more about Rotary Mobility are encouraged to contact David Kurtzman at 530-545-3283.
