8:00 PM UPDATE: A hose line is in place around the Lookout fire, and some resources are being released. According to LTBMU, the helicopter has been released, and air attack reconnaissance will continue tonight to watch for other starts.
According to Watch Duty, the fire is .5 acres in size.
6:20 PM UPDATE: The Lookout Fire is about 1/2 acre in size at this time and moving at a slow to moderate rate of speed. Multiple resources are responding, including a helicopter. Air attack has been ordered.
US Forest Service, CalFire, and Lake Valley Fire have all responded and crews are hiking in to fight the fire.
Trails in the area are temporarily closed, according to Martin Goldberg of Lake Valley Fire.
USFS Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit spokesperson Lisa Herron said the fire is most likely lightning-caused.
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Multiple agencies are responding to a fire on Angora Ridge that started Thursday evening. From initial reports, the first most likely was started by a lightning strike.
