NORTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The Placer County Sheriff’s Office is closing beaches on the North Shore tonight due to several issues, including large groups of teens and underage drinking.
Lake Forest Beaches, including Skylandia and Bristlecone, will be closed after 4 p.m on Saturday, July 4.
The sheriff’s office said the closures are due to large groups of teens, many from outside the area, gathering at the beaches. The crowds have led to underage drinking, widespread littering, and significant traffic impacts in surrounding neighborhoods. Over the past two nights, deputies have spent several hours clearing the area and managing the crowds.
Do not go to that area tonight. The beaches will be closed, and anyone attempting to access them will be turned away.
