DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. – A 19-year-old and a 20-year-old man, both Nevada residents, died at the scene after the vehicle they were in caught on fire after a two-vehicle crash.
On Friday, July 3rd, 2026, at approximately 6:05 a.m., the Nevada Highway Patrol (NHP) responded to a crash on SR208 near the intersection with Topaz Ranch Drive. This is approximately two miles east of US395 in Douglas County, Nevada.
NHP has released its preliminary investigation. The report indicates a gray Audi A5 sedan was traveling eastbound on SR208 in the westbound travel lane, in a no-passing zone, attempting to pass multiple vehicles. A white Ford F-350 pickup was traveling westbound on SR208 in the westbound travel lane. The driver of the pickup steered right, entering the northside shoulder, attempting to avoid colliding with the sedan. The front of the sedan struck the left front of the pickup. The sedan rotated and came to a stop on the dirt shoulder of westbound SR208, west of the intersection with Topaz Ranch Drive. The pickup came to a stop on the dirt shoulder/embankment of westbound SR208, west of the intersection with Topaz Ranch Drive. The sedan caught on fire.
The driver of the sedan, Kohlbe David-Gregory Deines, a 19-year-old male from Gardnerville, was pronounced deceased on scene. The passenger in the sedan, Brayden Thomas Kramer, a 20-year-old male from Wellington, was pronounced deceased on scene.
The driver of the pickup was transported by air to a local area hospital with substantial life-threatening injuries.
