Tallac Historic Site to hold 39th annual Great Gatsby Festival

It’s time to put on the ritz! Join the 39th annual Great Gatsby Festival Saturday and Sunday, August 8-9, 2026, at the Tallac Historic Site on the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. both days. The Gatsby Speakeasy will run from 6-9 p.m. on Saturday, August 8. The Taylor Creek Visitor Center buildings will be closed August 8-9 so staff can assist with the festival. The parking area will be open for overflow parking and is limited. This year’s Great Gatsby Festival welcomes:
  • Vintage and craft market vendors
  • Live jazz and ukulele performances
  • Classic lawn games and automobiles
  • Living history tours
  • Silent auction and raffle
  • Gatsby Speakeasy
  • Iconic Gatsby Tea & Fashion Show
The Gatsby Tea & Fashion Show takes place on Sunday, 2- 4 p.m. at the Pope House. Tickets for this popular event are sold out. The Great Gatsby Festival began in the mid-1980s as a celebration of all things Roaring Twenties, from Art Deco design to classic cars. Over the years, the festival has brought thousands of revelers together in the shared appreciation of the bygone era. The Great Gatsby Festival is hosted by the Tallac Historic Site and the Taylor Creek Visitor Center’s interpretive association, The Great Basin Institute, in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service.
