SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The GigaBite Robotics team earned the 1st Place Inspire Award at the FIRST Tech Challenge Premier Event in Canada at the end of July.

The Inspire Award is the highest honor in FIRST Tech Challenge, recognizing a team that exemplifies excellence in engineering, innovation, outreach, teamwork, and gracious professionalism.

Coach Monique LeMay said she couldn’t be more proud of these incredible students who have been working hard for the past five years as a team.

“Their dedication, countless hours of designing, building, coding, practicing, fundraising, and supporting one another have led to this amazing achievement,” said LeMay. “They have represented our team, our community, and themselves with professionalism, kindness, and determination every step of the way.

‘This award is a reflection of who they are, not just as engineers, but as leaders, mentors, and role models,” added LeMay. “Watching them grow into confident young adults has been the greatest reward! I’m proud to be their coach. And the kids had a blast making new friends and interacting with teams from all over the world.”
