The modern Robber Baron of the last forty-one years operates right here in Lake Tahoe

Since 1985, the California Tahoe Conservancy (CTC) has been working in the Lake Tahoe Basin to protect, restore, and enhance the recreational and environmental resources of the region. Taking over 4,400 acres off the tax rolls in South Lake Tahoe and the west shore. Additionally, what economic harm does a 4,400-acre land grab irreparably do to the Lake Tahoe realtors and job losses? The California Tahoe Conservancy expects the community to completely ignore THE LAW OF SUPPLY AND DEMAND, while pretending that grabbing up 4,400 acres produces an insignificant impact upon the community.

Furthermore, how much economic impact upon schools does PERMANENTLY REMOVING property tax-generating land from the tax base and depriving schools of natural property tax funds so much so that hundreds of millions of dollars worth of school bonds have to be repeatedly passed and levied upon the remaining property owners. Tuesday, the California Tahoe Conservancy expects the City of South Lake Tahoe to engage in a shady land exchange of a mere 7.3 acres for 180 acres of city-owned Upper Truckee river front land. This type of land exchange is tremendously worse than a potential land swap deal ACRE FOR ACRE land exchange, disproportionately demonized in YOSEMITE.. THE BAD DEAL IS HERE. The California Tahoe Conservancy’s UNELECTED BUREAUCRATS have no right to even propose such an outrageously inequitable land deal. It is so inequitable a land deal that to call it a Land EXCHANGE is to BUTCHER the English language. STOP THE STEAL 

While a noble cause some 35 or 40 years ago, sadly the California Tahoe Conservancy has morphed into a city-destroying, job-killing, housing-reducing nuclear time bomb and land-grabbing LEVIATHAN of an 1860’s soulless Machiavellian Land Baron with an insatiable appetite for property.

OVER 4,400 pieces of property under their control. REALLY? How much land do they need to CONTROL? The barbarians are inside the gates of the city and they call themselves the California Tahoe Conservancy. If the CTC wants the land so bad make them purchase it like the former Motel-6 land. The comparable value should be about at least $135,000,000.00 to $150,000,000.00.

Shame on you CTC offering a mere 7.3 acres. Surely the residents, workers and visitors alike deserve better than these damn unelected bureaucrats and their disastrous DYSTOPIAN version of Lake Tahoe. 

Power corrupts and this near  absolute power of the California Tahoe Conservancy corrupts absolutely. Securing well over $200,000.00 in grant money for some token washed up Washoe tribal leader that sits on the California Tahoe Conservancy board as a silent rubber stamp is more evidence of their corrupt actions.

An absolutely imbalanced and incompetent 180-acre land swap for 7.3 acres is an absolute CRIME against the CITIZENS of this city and CANNOT go be permitted to go through. It’s taken years to get here, and that’s precisely how rotting deals get approved. Slowly and quietly over time, when nobody is looking.

Apparently, the State of California can make the city utilize this “surplus land” for housing but not if the city accepts an inequitable and immoral land swap deal from the “conservancy,” essentially GIVING AWAY a substantial portion the city’s river front land. 

If this type of absolutely fiscally  CORRUPT deal is pushed through in public, one can only imagine what type of deals are being made behind our backs in the dark rooms.

How dare the outgoing convicted mayor also sitting on the California Tahoe Conservancy board try to slip this smelly deal thru a few months before his term thankfully expires.

This kind of lopsided land swap won’t even hold up in a kangaroo court. This open theft of city land pushed for by the mayor is a far greater CRIME perpetrated upon the ENTIRE CITY than anything done by his predecessor. The convicted mayor is essentially performing a very late-term ABORTION and LOBOTOMY  on the common sense of the citizens of the City of South Lake Tahoe just before he slithers off the council like the snake that he is.

Pulling off such an imbalanced land swap swindle ought to secure him a similar $200,000.00 grant and a permanently appointed (not elected by the citizens of South Lake Tahoe) seat on the California Tahoe Conservancy board.
