The Republican Women of California – South Lake Tahoe hosted a candidate forum featuring Dyna Boen and Doug Williams, both candidates for the South Lake Tahoe City Council. Each candidate shared their background, priorities, and vision for the future of South Lake Tahoe.
Dyna Boen is a Managing Director at Escalent, a global data analytics consulting firm. She holds a BS in Healthcare Administration from Oregon State University and graduated from the Stanford Graduate School of Business Executive Program in 2026.
Key priorities include:
- Restore confidence through trustworthy and transparent leadership.
- Put Safety First by ensuring our police, fire, and emergency responders have the resources they need.
- Strengthen Tahoe’s year-round economy by supporting local businesses, expanding youth sports, and attracting events aligned with Tahoe’s unique identity.
- Evaluate and implement best practices for workforce and affordable housing.
- Protect the Tahoe environment through responsible stewardship.
Doug Williams serves on the South Lake Tahoe Planning Commission and the Board of Directors for Christmas Cheer. He is also a partner at Cedar Pines Resort and has lived and worked in Tahoe for many years.
Key priorities include:
- Hold ourselves and all elected officials to a higher standard to strengthen public trust and achieve positive outcomes.
- Keeping Tahoe’s economy strong. Keep “business” in business.
- Strengthen Tahoe’s economy by bringing in sports teams during slow seasons.
- Enhancing public safety, including exploring the return of a Fire Safety Council.
- Maintaining and improving local roads and infrastructure.
- Removing barriers to solutions and addressing community challenges with persistence and practical problem-solving.
The Republican Women of California – South Lake Tahoe (RWC-SLT) generally meets on the second Thursday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
