Enchanted Florist of South Lake Tahoe to close its doors April 30

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Sadly, the owner of Enchanted Florist in South Lake Tahoe will be closing its doors on Tuesday, April 30. Owner Karen Estes said she took a beating after COVID-19 when weddings were canceled or postponed and businesses couldn't be open, with the rising costs of utilities, and a lack of people to work at the popular florist, she made the tough decision to close.
"It is with a heavy heart to say that I am closing Enchanted Florist," said Karen. "I will be posting the flower shop for sale."

New owners are now on board and ready to bring back those memories, and they are already hearing the stories of what the Sno-Flake meant to so many people.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif - It's been a long time coming, but the Havard family is ready to open their new Chicken in a Barrel location. Their home for the past 5.5 years has been in an old building, once home to an A&W restaurant at the Y in South Lake Tahoe.
Now they will be located in the new restaurant space in the Whole Foods complex at the corner of Lake Tahoe Blvd. and Herbert Avenue. They signed the lease one year ago and since then it's been a lot of work in the 2,600 sq foot space.

STATELINE, Nev. – Tahoe Beach Club successfully raised over $52,000 through its "Right Footprint" summer 2023 campaign. A significant portion, $25,772, was donated to Clean Up The Lake for the launch of their innovative Environmental Dive Center (EDC) in Incline Village, Nev.
The EDC represents a pioneering venture in environmental conservation. Doubling as both a conservation dive school and an environmental science center.

John Fellows opened Aspen Hollow in 1994 on the corner of Emerald Bay Road and Lukins Way as the property fit his vision for creating a magical nursery. He had been creative in his career around the Lake Tahoe area as a mason, woodcarver, sign maker, and the nursery would allow him to take his creativity in a new direction.

El Dicho Cafe opened last week on Tamarack Avenue and has coffees, bagels, breakfast burritos, fruit smoothies, flavored Red Bull, juices, fresh pastries, and a full list of antojitos (or Mexican snack food) on its menu.
Perla Bautista has lived in South Lake Tahoe for 39 years and was operating Learn & Play Daycare out of her home when she was able to realize her next dream.
"I wanted to open a coffee shop since I was little," said Perla.

Local Tahoe Adventures solves the problem that any have - how to get the equipment needed to Lake Tahoe. With smaller cars hitting the road, many don't have the room to carry a kayak or standup paddleboard to the beach.
Jessica "Nikky" Lipovsky started the company to take care of problems like that.
Nikky started the business in 2022 and is using this second summer to grow and fill more recreation needs.

Dillon and Connor McKeen are putting the finishing touches on the remodel of the old Pick 6 at 3115 Harrison Avenue. This week their chef, Chris Ibarra, unveiled the dishes he created for The Woods, showing them to the new staff. Dish after dish came out of the kitchen Friday, with staff savoring every bite as they heard the chef's story about each one.

Bed Bath and Beyond is closing, with up to 75 percent off merchandise, and beginning today, a 25 off sale of all their fixtures, including shelving, rolling carts, and more — all of which are commercial grade.
Liquidator Yolanda Griggs stated that some fixtures have already been purchased by other small business owners as well as residents who need fixtures for their garages, shops, and homes. Residents and small business owners are encouraged to shop this weekend before all fixtures are gone.

Great American Cookies opens store in Heavenly Village

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Great American Cookies has just opened its first location in South Lake Tahoe at The Shops at Heavenly Village. The dessert chain’s claim to fame is creating the Original Cookie Cake which dates to 1977.
They are also known for their delicious, fresh-baked cookies, Double Doozies, and brownies.
The new Great American Cookies is located in the former Nestle's Tollhouse shop at 1001 Heavenly Village Way, Unit 10, South Lake Tahoe, Calif., and is open Sunday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless is requesting proposals for the Bear's Den rehabilitation, at 2250 Lake Tahoe Blvd, South Lake Tahoe. The Bear’s Den is in need of the installation of a new fire life safety alarm system at 2244/2250 Lake Tahoe, and repair and installation of framing, and installation of new drywall, texture, and paint at its 2250 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

The South Tahoe Chamber of Commerce welcomed a new business to the community last week, R+H Aesthetic Medicine.
R+H Aesthetic Medicine is Lake Tahoe's premier medical spa. They opened their third location during a ribbon-cutting ceremony at their Tahoe Keys Boulevard office. The other two are in Roseville and West Sacramento. It is owned by who is Dr. Rei Young and his wife Heidi.

Sunsational Clothing & Tans of South Lake Tahoe will be holding its annual Customer Appreciation Day and celebrating seven years in business on Wednesday, October 26 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. All current and new members are invited.
They will be displaying their new Salt Cave - infrared saunas, $20 spray tans, free red-light therapy, and Level 5 Ultra tanning bed. There will be raffles, food, prizes, and gift bags.
Sunsational has been owned by Rachel Cagina for the last seven years.
